LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy.

Many LGBTQIA+ people seek therapy for the same reasons as anyone else, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, stress, or major life transitions. At the same time, experiences such as discrimination, marginalisation, family rejection, minority stress, identity exploration, and navigating systems that may not feel affirming can create additional challenges.

I provide LGBTQIA+ affirming therapy that is grounded in respect, curiosity, and compassion. Therapy is a place where all aspects of your identity are welcome, without assumptions, judgement, or the expectation that you will need to educate your therapist.

Gender Diverse and Trans Affirming Care.

I provide affirming support for transgender, non-binary, gender diverse, and gender-questioning individuals.

Therapy can provide a space to explore gender, understand your experiences, navigate transitions, process difficult experiences, build confidence, and connect more fully with who you are.

There is no expectation that you have everything figured out before seeking support. Therapy can be a place for exploration, reflection, and understanding at whatever stage of your journey you may be.

Neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ Identities.

Many LGBTQIA+ people are also autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent. Research and lived experience increasingly highlight the overlap between neurodivergence, gender diversity, and diverse sexual orientations.

My approach is both LGBTQIA+ affirming and neuroaffirming, recognising that people's experiences are often shaped by multiple intersecting identities.

My Approach.

Therapy is tailored to the individual rather than following a one-size-fits-all model. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches depending on your goals, experiences, strengths, and support needs. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and grounded in creating a space where all aspects of your identity are welcome.

FAQs

Do I need to be "out" to attend therapy?

1

No. You are welcome to explore your experiences, identity, or questions at your own pace. There is no expectation that you are out to family, friends, work, or anyone else before seeking support.

How do I get started?

2

Absolutely. Therapy can provide a safe, supportive space to explore sexual orientation, gender identity, relationship experiences, and the questions that matter to you, without pressure to reach a particular conclusion.

Do you provide gender-affirming care?

3

Yes. I provide affirming support for transgender, non-binary, gender-diverse, and gender-questioning individuals. Therapy can support exploration, self-understanding, navigating transitions, coping with challenges, and connecting more fully with who you are

Can I see you for issues unrelated to being LGBTQIA+?

4

Absolutely. LGBTQIA+ people seek therapy for the full range of human experiences, including anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationships, grief, stress, burnout, and life transitions. Your identity may be an important part of your story, but it does not have to be the focus of therapy unless you would like it to be.
